A New Approach of Quantitative Grey Relational Generating

Summary： Grey relational analysis purports to find, fromamong a set of discrete series data, the correlationextent between a series and the other series. Theanalysis can also reveal the relational grade between thefactor variation of each series and that of a referenceseries. The ranking of relational grades, which serves asan indicator of the relational grades between series data,is regarded as a static analysis method. The analyzedseries factors need to first satisfy non-dimension, scalingand polarization, before they are subject to relationalanalysis. If they cannot satisfy the three conditions, theymust be subject to data pre-procession. This process isreferred to as grey relational generating. Research overthe past years has suggested certain methods for greyrelational generating despite some observedinadequacies in application. To solve the problem, thepresent study develops a special way for relationalgenerating. By applying this method, the measurementspace factors, which are derived from the series factors,will not distort the linear relations between the factorsof the compared series. In calculating grey relationalgrades, different rankings can result from differentmethods of generation as the application of the newapproach can solve this problem, it can become atheoretical method of analysis.
